Annual Intl. Conference On Tourism

Annual academic conference organized by the Athens Institute for Education and Research (ATINER) as a forum for global scholars to exchange ideas on the future of tourism. The agenda is intentionally broad and interdisciplinary – spanning tourism economics, policy, law, hotel management, and sustainable development. Researchers and professionals from numerous countries attend to present papers, chair sessions, or observe discussions. Following a blind peer-review process, exceptional papers are considered for publication in the Athens Journal of Tourism. Held each June in Athens, the event combines formal presentations with a distinct social and educational program. This often includes an Athenian symposium, city tours, and organized visits to nearby historical sites such as Delphi, Mycenae, and Cape Sounion. Registration fees apply for all attendees, who can participate as presenters or observers.
