Styled to look like a vintage butcher shop, Bardeni is a compact spot on Carrer de València focused entirely on high-quality meat. The space, designed by Lázaro Rosa Violán, is dominated by a main bar with counter seating, supplemented by just a few high tables that fill out the rest of the room. It’s an informal and agile setup, with the day’s suggestions written directly on a wall for everyone to see.
This is chef Dani Lechuga’s personal project, a place where his family’s background in the meat business comes through clearly. The entire concept is built around presenting top-tier meat in creative tapas and small plates, skipping the formalities of a traditional restaurant. The menu is a tight list of meat-only items intended for sharing. You'll find staples like the hand-cut steak tartar, rich oxtail cannelloni, and a signature fricandó sandwich, alongside various cuts of beef like onglet and picanha from breeds such as Charolais and Angus.
The model here is very specific and product-driven. There are no fried potatoes on the menu, and the bar doesn't serve hard liquor or spirits. A minimum of two dishes per person is required, and the expectation is that you place your full order at the start of the meal. It’s a place designed for eating well and then moving on, not for long, lingering dinners. Given its small size and popularity, booking ahead is essential.
