Farmhouse Restaurant has been a fixture on Main Street since 1976, serving straightforward American country cooking in the middle of historic downtown Branson. The building itself fits right in with the neighborhood’s architecture, and its long-standing presence makes it a reliable anchor for both locals and tourists. A wait for a table is part of the standard experience here, especially during peak meal times. The restaurant hands out pagers, so the typical move is to browse the surrounding downtown shops until your spot is ready. Inside, the main dining room is small and cozy, and it’s almost always bustling with activity. There’s also a gift shop upstairs selling home décor and other merchandise, which you can check out before or after your meal. The menu is built around homestyle classics, and the portions are famously large. For lunch and dinner, the kitchen turns out plates of country-fried steak and crispy fried chicken, alongside thick-sliced ham and classic biscuits with gravy. You'll also find a fresh salad and soup bar with homemade options that change regularly. The signature dessert is a blackberry cobbler, which also comes in peach and cherry varieties. A big part of the draw, however, is the breakfast menu. The buttermilk pancakes are enormous, and everything from the breakfast list is available all day long.
