On a quiet street directly opposite Károlyi Garden, Budapest’s oldest park, Hotel Collect has a striking but discreetly lit facade that feels more like a private residence than a hotel. The name is a direct reference to the hotel's core idea: a curated collection of hand-picked vintage and contemporary furniture, art, and objects. The entire building was designed by Kossuth Prize-winning architect Attila F. Kovács, who studied its history to adapt the interiors. Inside, the design is an elegant modernism with French influences – think Belle Époque and Art Deco echoes. The intimate lobby is the center of the hotel, serving as a lounge, a 24/7 bar, and the spot where the complimentary continental breakfast buffet is served each morning. Staff are always on hand to pour coffee or mix drinks from the full bar at any hour. Just beyond the lobby, you'll find a courtyard garden designed to look like a traditional Parisian coffee house. Black and white Moroccan cement tiles cover the floor, set with round marble tables and wicker chairs surrounded by bamboo and flowers. With only 16 rooms and suites, the atmosphere remains personal and quiet – an impression reinforced by the adults-only policy. The rooms continue the design theme with black lacquer and gold details set against modern furniture. Some have small balconies with views directly into the park’s canopy.
