The Malaysian Association of Hotels (MAH), established in 1974, is the official National Hotel Association and primary representative body for the country's hotel industry. Comprising over one thousand member hotels across thirteen chapters, MAH fosters strong partnerships with private sector organizations and government agencies, including the Ministry of Tourism. As the authoritative voice of Malaysia's hotel industry, MAH promotes, protects, represents, and advances the collective interests of its members. The association fosters cooperation and camaraderie, upholds high standards of service quality and business ethics, and develops human resources through initiatives like the MAH Training & Education Center (MAHTEC). It also promotes international, regional, and domestic tourism, cultivates industry-public relationships, and spearheads projects to enhance productivity. In 2024, MAH marked its golden jubilee with a gala dinner featuring the prestigious MAH Hotel Employee Awards and the MAH Management Grand Prix, recognizing excellence and cultivating future leaders in hospitality. The association consistently engages in activities like the annual Treasure Hunt and supports public health initiatives such as the National Hotel Less Sugar Campaign, while also advocating for its members' interests on critical issues from incentives and taxes to licensing and regulatory matters.
