Prince Street Pizza

New York-style slice shop serving thick Sicilian squares topped with pepperoni that curls into crisp, greasy cups. The space is standing-room-only, with the scene spilling out onto the public sidewalk tables.

The entire concept at Prince Street Pizza is a direct transplant from New York, right down to a water replication system that mimics the mineral content of the city’s water for the dough. You’ll find the simple storefront on East 3rd Street in the Arts District, where the operation is built around the classic slice shop format. Inside, the space is compact and purely functional – it’s standing room only, with the focus squarely on ordering at the counter for takeout. The main draw is the thick-crust, rectangular Sicilian-style pizza, known as a "SoHo Square." Its most famous version is the Spicy Spring, made with a Fra Diavolo sauce and pepperoni that curls into distinctive, crisp-edged cups as it cooks. Another signature is the Naughty Pie, which uses a spicy vodka sauce and gets a drizzle of honey over the pepperoni and ricotta. The whole philosophy comes from a family recipe book: if you can put it on pasta, you can put it on pizza. Traditional round Neapolitan pies are also available, either whole or by the slice, displayed right at the counter. The setup is designed for a quick transaction, and most orders are packed to go. While there are public tables on the sidewalk out front, they aren't managed by the pizzeria. Parking in the Arts District can be a challenge, so it’s best to plan for that. Beyond the pizza, the menu includes mozzarella sticks, which can be ordered with the same spicy vodka sauce found on the Naughty Pie.
