Malbon

Melrose Place flagship for the lifestyle brand bridging golf culture and streetwear. Rich wood and marble fixtures display branded polos and custom putters like gallery pieces rather than pro shop inventory.

It is rare to see golf bags and putters displayed with the same reverence as gallery sculptures, but that is exactly how Malbon approaches the sport. Located on Melrose Place, the shop leans into the neighborhood’s architectural heritage, utilizing Hollywood Regency and Art Deco cues to contextualize the merchandise. The interior is built out with rich woods and marble details, creating a warm, substantial atmosphere that feels distinct from the sterile brightness of a typical pro shop. Apparel hangs from custom fixtures designed to echo the brand’s "Buckets" logo, while specialized racks hold gloves, clubs, and accessories. The layout encourages you to move through the space slowly, treating the gear – from technical outerwear to collaborative equipment – as design objects rather than just utility items. Founders Stephen and Erica Malbon launched the label in Los Angeles in 2017, originally setting up on Fairfax Avenue before moving to this more polished address. The shift mirrors the brand’s broader goal: taking the rigid traditions of golf and loosening them up with streetwear sensibilities. The store acts as a clubhouse for loyalists who track the brand’s frequent collaborations, often drawing visitors who make the trip specifically to see the physical space. While the setting is high-end, the mood remains relatively relaxed, catering to a crowd that is just as interested in the aesthetic of the game as the score.
