The menu at Markette is a direct reflection of chef India Doris, who grew up in London with a Jamaican mother and a Scottish father. Her cooking blends the Caribbean flavors of her childhood with the refined European techniques she developed working in kitchens like the two-Michelin-starred Saga and Crown Shy. This background comes through in a dinner-only menu of shareable plates – dishes like Peri Peri Chicken, Salt Cod Fritters, and a rich Oxtail Gratin with toasted polenta are designed to be passed around the table.
The main dining room is on the ground floor, a compact space with seating for about 50. Its look is distinct – burnt-orange banquettes, Murano glass chandeliers, and gold accents create a warm, glowing atmosphere.
