Les Clefs d'Or USA is the official national association for professional hotel concierges in the United States, and a significant part of the global Les Clefs d'Or membership. Established in November 1978 as the nineteenth section of the Union Internationale des Concierges d'Hôtels (UICH), the association has grown from about fifty founding members to over 650 professionals across the U.S. These concierges work in over 250 four- and five-star properties, collectively serving more than 100,000 hotel rooms each night. Its core mission is to foster professional development within the hotel industry, promote tourism, and uphold the highest standards of service for hotel guests. Members are recognized by the crossed gold keys on their uniform lapels – an international symbol of a seasoned professional adept at fulfilling a diverse range of guest requests, from everyday needs to the extraordinary – guided by the philosophy that "anything is possible" within legal bounds. The association champions continuous improvement and knowledge sharing within the concierge profession. It organizes symposia, lectures, and conventions, and distributes newsletters to keep members informed on hospitality trends and best practices. The association also supports an educational mission, partnering with foundations like the Timothy S.Y. Lam Foundation to advance research, education, and training. Beyond professional duties, Les Clefs d'Or concierges actively engage in charitable activities. They host fundraising events, raising substantial funds for local charities and the Les Clefs d'Or Foundation of the Americas, which assists concierges facing catastrophic illnesses. Operating under the global motto, "In Service through Friendship," the association emphasizes its worldwide network and collaborative spirit.
