Loving life in Reykjavik!

Haf Store stands on Geirsgata, a short walk from Reykjavik’s Old Harbour. Large glass windows line the front, drawing in daylight and giving a clear view into the shop’s main floor from the street. Everything sits on a single level, with open shelving and sturdy tables arranged so goods are grouped by type – ceramics along one wall, textiles and cushions folded nearby, lighting and tableware set toward the back. The layout leaves plenty of space between displays, making it easy to move around, even when the shop is busy. Shelves are stocked with a mix of Nordic and Icelandic pieces, with a strong focus on locally made home goods, kitchenware, and design objects. Furniture and decorative items fill out the selection – art prints, small-batch ceramics, and occasional limited-edition pieces from Icelandic designers. Some of the inventory rotates out for special collaborations or product launches, so the setup shifts a bit from month to month. Off to one side, a fitting area lets visitors check the feel or weight of a blanket or cushion before deciding. The shop keeps to a minimalist, Scandinavian look – pale wood, metal, and glass, with a neutral palette that lets the items stand out. The atmosphere stays quiet, built for slow browsing and taking in the details. Gift-wrapping is available at the counter for those who need it. The entrance is flat and accessible straight from the street – no steps or ramps to navigate. For anyone outside Reykjavik, the website lists most of the inventory and ships internationally. Haf Store has been part of the city’s design scene for years, working with up-and-coming Icelandic makers and hosting the occasional event when new collections arrive.
