Federalberghi, officially known as the Federazione delle Associazioni Italiane Alberghi e Turismo, is Italy's leading entrepreneurial organization for the tourist-accommodation sector. For over a century, it is a central reference point for hoteliers nationwide, actively championing their economic and social interests. The association's core mission promotes the tourism industry's societal role, strengthens the Italian tourist economy, and enhances the national accommodation offerings. Representing over 20,000 businesses, Federalberghi operates through 128 territorial associations across Italy. It articulates the demands and proposals of hotel enterprises to governmental, political, economic, and trade union bodies, advocating for policy changes such as tax reduction and investment support for facility upgrades. It also combats illegal accommodation practices, safeguarding tourists, workers, and legitimate businesses. A founding member of Hotrec, the European Confederation of Hotels, Restaurants and Bars, Federalberghi also maintains affiliation with Confcommercio, where it established Confturismo. Its efforts significantly contribute to Italy's standing as a leading global tourist destination, particularly in the MICE segment, a sector in which Italy attained European leadership in conference tourism in 2024. The association emphasizes the "humanity" of hotels, highlighting the personal touch and dedicated service that distinguishes the Italian hospitality experience.
