Final Final

Longtime Cow Hollow sports bar recently updated with a full kitchen and 18 screens. Memorabilia lines the wood-paneled walls above smashburgers, pool tables, and bowls of free popcorn.

The name refers to the universal barroom promise to stay for just one last drink, a ritual that has played out on this Cow Hollow corner since Arnie Prien took over in 1978. While the location has served alcohol under various names since the end of Prohibition—including a stint as a haunt for Industrial Light & Magic staff who nicknamed it "Building F"—it is the accumulated sports history that dominates the room today. You are drinking next to actual seats ripped from Candlestick Park, framed gloves worn by Jerry Rice, and a dedicated photo gallery for Joe DiMaggio near the entrance. A 2025 renovation acknowledged the physical reality of the crowds here, pushing the main bar back six feet to create more standing room for the fans who pack in for 49ers games and college football. With 18 televisions mounting the walls, there is rarely a quiet visual moment, though the sound of pool games and darts fills the gaps during commercials. For most of its life, the bar operated without a kitchen, sustaining patrons solely on baskets of free popcorn. While the popcorn machine is still running, the new layout includes a full menu turning out smashburgers and wings to go with Bloody Marys served with a beer sidecar. It remains a loud, wood-paneled space where the intention to leave early is frequently tested.
