Based in Tallinn, EE
The Estonian Hotel and Restaurant Association (EHRA), also known as Eesti Hotellide ja Restoranide Liit (EHRL), supports Estonia's hospitality sector. Founded on February 12, 1992, by an initial group of sixteen hotels and restaurants, the organization now represents approximately two hundred companies and associations, including leading accommodation providers and hospitality education institutions. As a public, voluntary, and democratically governed body, EHRA champions and protects its members' interests at both national and international levels. It advocates for favorable legislative development within the hospitality industry, fosters a sustainable and enterprising business environment, and ensures consistent quality of hotel and restaurant services across Estonia. EHRA advances vocational education and workforce development, assessing training needs and organizing relevant programs for sector professionals. The association is a founding member of the Estonian Employers' Confederation and has been a member of HOTREC, the European trade association for hotels, restaurants, and cafés, since 1993. Among its key initiatives, EHRA launched "The Best of the Year" annual award in 1996, recognizing those who significantly promote Estonia's hotel and restaurant industry. The association also helped establish the Hospitality Cluster, an initiative designed to elevate Estonian food culture and promote it globally, with the goal of positioning Estonia as a "new food capital of the Nordic countries." Through these comprehensive efforts, EHRA supports its members with vital information and cooperative opportunities, shaping the future and reputation of Estonian hospitality.
